Outside of the office, Dr. Thieroff is heavily involved in volunteer work! When he isn’t volunteering, he loves spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys going fishing and exercising, with his favorite activities being swimming, yoga, and hiking.

Dr. Neal has taken numerous continuing education opportunities in all facets of dentistry, including General Dentistry, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Dental Implants, Pedodontics, Fixed, and  Removable Prosthodontics, CT Imaging, Endodontics, Periodontics, Dental Sleep Medicine, Oral Sedation, Laser Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, 3D Digital Imaging, Dental Photography,  Invisalign and more.  Dr. Neal also mentors other dentists in various areas of general and advanced dentistry.

Dr. Neal is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Fellowship is presented to dentists who are committed to pursuing professional excellence and providing the highest quality of dental care. In order to receive this distinction, Dr. Neal completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive written exam, and fulfilled three years of continuing membership in the AGD. As an AGD Fellow, Dr. Neal has joined an elite group of more than 17,105 members of the dental community who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements. Fellowship symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Personal Dedication to Public Service

Active in the local community, Dr. Neal has served residents of area nursing homes and held a position on the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce. He participated in the local Jaycees and received awards for community service in public speaking, community blood drives, and the Key Man honor. Dr. Neal also worked with the Riverwoods Christian Center to provide dental care for children in need as well as holding several leadership positions in his church. Dr. Neal and his wife make an annual trip to Honduras for a week to serve in the inner city of Tegucigalpa, providing free dental care through World Gospel Outreach.

Life & Hobbies

Outside of the office, Dr. Neal loves to spend quality time with his wife, Shauna, their six children, six grandchildren, and two boxers. He also enjoys traveling, camping, playing guitar, reading, target shooting, and video games.
